The People Behind the Promise
So many ways to help
Our Story
In 2015, representatives from several Ogden area churches came together to explore the possibility of providing local support in which families facing homelessness could stay together while receiving meals and overnight care. Family Promise, a national organization operating in 39 states and more than 200 communities, became the oversight and structure for the vision.
Family Promise of Ogden, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is the second affiliate in Utah. In 2017, our staff and hundreds of volunteers, and donors, in partnership with North Ogden City and Ogden City began caring for families. Through a capital campaign that brought together generous individual, business, and foundation donations, and in partnership with the State of Utah, we opened our own center in October 2025 in Harrisville, Utah. We continue to be hope in action for families with children experiencing homelessness.
